What does Judaism say about organ donation, abortion, stem cell research, and surrogate childbirth. This course injects students into a multi-generational discourse that demonstrates how an ancient tradition deals with new technologies and ethical issues.
The course can be modified for middle school, high school, and adult learners.
Note: This course can be taken as a 1 or 2 session program.
Modern technological and social changes have raised a number of critical ethical questions relating to medical care. In our study of medical ethics we will address the Jewish position on some of the following issues:
- Definition of Death
- Organ Donation
- Medical Research (stem cell, research on animals, autopsy, etc.)
- Fertility and Surrogate Childbirth
